Course Description

This course critically surveys selected New Testament literature. Its also analyses the historical background, date of writing, authorship, provenance, audience, composition and selected themes of the New Testament books.

Aim of Course

To equip students with the sound academic tools to analyse the New Testament texts whose historical meanings are to be appliecd to the contemporary contexts.


The main objectives of this course are to:

  • Familiarize students with the content of New Testament Literature.
  • Equip students with various methodologies used in the study of New testament e.g. source, form and redaction criticism.
  • Analyse, critique and take positions on scholarly positions on issues prevalent to New Testament.
