Course description

The course covers skills and styles for academic writing and, among other critical topics, research and report writing.

Aim of the course

To help students improve their ability to communicate effectively with professionals as well as other members of the public through familiarity with the format and content of the various written documents used for internal and external communication in organisations.


It is expected that by the end of the course students will be able to:
  1. Write clear, concise and effective communication document, e.g. memos, circulars, notices etc.
  2. Use communication skills to enhance decision making, negotiation and to solve conflict (in simulations).
  3. Explain the importance of communication in executing management functions.
  4. Prepare thoroughly for interviews, meetings management, work-related conflict resolution.
